March Concert

SWCB has a deeply meaningful connection to the Music for Life motto and a strong commitment to using music as a way to bring comfort and joy to people at every stage of life. The Music Therapy Program for the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County is a beautiful example of this ethos in action.

Jill Murphy’s work in growing the program and the efforts of SWCB to raise public awareness through fundraising concerts are inspiring. The idea of using music to bring peace to patients at the end of their lives—just as lullabies provide comfort to newborns—is both poignant and powerful. It’s heartwarming to know that these concerts have been held annually since 2014, creating a lasting impact on the community and the hospice movement.
