About Us
A Community of Music Lovers
Welcome to the Second Wind Community Band! We’re a volunteer-based organization that thrives on the joy of making music together. Our band is a diverse group of passionate musicians of all ages—from eager teens to seasoned players in their 80s—who come together to share the love of music in a fun and supportive environment.
Founded in 1993-1994, our band was created with the belief that it’s never too late (or too early!) to pick up an instrument and join in the fun. Whether you’re a brand-new musician, someone returning to your instrument after a break, or a seasoned player looking for a welcoming place to perform, we have a spot for you. Our motto, “Music for Life,” reflects our mission to bring the joy of music-making to everyone, regardless of experience or background.
We are more than just a band; we are a community. Our members support each other, learn together, and most importantly, have a great time creating music. Under the guidance of our dedicated directors—Michele, Laura, Margaret, and Bruce—we explore a wide variety of music styles, from classical to jazz and everything in between.
Joining the Second Wind Community Band means being part of a lively, creative, and inclusive group that values every member’s contribution. Whether you’re playing your first notes or your thousandth, we welcome you to share in the harmony, friendship, and fun that define our band.
Come and join us—because making music is better together!
